The Great Rock Paper Scissors Battle

Role
Concept + Design

The Great Rock Paper Scissors Battle is an interactive design project. Billed as “the world’s first t-shirt battle”, the event gave 100 competitors in Wellington, New Zealand the chance to compete in a day-long, city-wide game of “RPS” – played with t-shirts instead of on hands. For $29 NZD, each competitor received a fluro yellow t-shirt, screenprinted with the hand sign of their choice. Included with the shirt was a pocket rulebook and coloured pins for scoring.

Battle Day (5 March 2011) was a great success – competitors schemed and strategized for the entire day, and communicated through Foursquare and Facebook elements. The Battle was lauded by media through local radio, television, and newspaper coverage.

“… thanks for the game, greatest Saturday I’ve ever had ^_^”
